J.F. Moore has a long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility, including environmentally sustainable business practices and support for the communities in which we operate. As a leader on the environment JF Moore has helped to establish some of the industry standards as required by the Ministry of the Environment as well as local and provincial government bodies.
More than 25 years ago we introduced a comprehensive program of paper recycling that has subsequently saved more than 250,000 trees, while diverting significant volumes from landfill. In 1992, we were granted an “Environmental Choice” certificate and license, based on strict criteria established by Environment Canada.
More recently, we were formally recognized and certified by the SmartWood program of the Rainforest Alliance with Forest Stewardship Council certification. Early in 2008, we partnered with a major ink manufacturer to test and introduce a new series of environmentally friendly inks that reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds by more than 70 percent.
In 2010 we became an Agfa Greenworks printer by incorporating chemical free plate processing which reduced our impact by over 90% in the production of plates for press.
Our company and management is also committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. Our employees volunteered their time and the company has donated Design and Marketing Services, Printing, Direct Mail and has donated funds raised through varies events to a number of deserving organizations. They include the Daily Bread Food Bank, SickKid’s Foundation, Right To Play, The Jose Bautista Foundation, The Children’s Aid Foundation through the Joe Carter Classic, United Way, Frontier College, Canadian Diabetes Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
